Focus on what you care about to keep yourself motivated.
Motivation thrives when you train on things that matter to you. It's as simple as that. Just like a special team in a championship game, knowing they are destined to win because they've put in the work, you can find your motivation by focusing on your personal goals. Training on something that excites you keeps the fire burning, pushing you to achieve more. Whether it's jumping rope or lifting weights, the joy in training comes from doing what you love.
Maintaining motivation during the offseason can be challenging, especially when you’re not actively competing or lifting. To stay on track, having a realistic nutrition plan is key. I rely on the guidance of my facility’s staff to ensure my diet aligns with my fitness routine. Just as in jumping rope, where consistency and rhythm lead to better performance, sticking to a well-planned diet keeps you grounded and focused, even when the competition season is over.

Cutting weight is never easy and I’ve been through it after the 2024 Olympics. Losing 10 pounds a week while aiming to reach the low 170s was tough and it wasn’t a place I stayed for long. Instead, I shifted my focus to bulking up, understanding that weight management is a long-term game. Much like jumping rope, where small, consistent efforts lead to big results, managing your weight involves understanding when to cut and when to maintain, always keeping your goals in sight.

Looking ahead, I hope to earn another spot on the Olympic team. The drive to compete at that level requires constant motivation and I find it by training on what I care about most. Whether it's perfecting my jump rope skills or refining my nutrition, staying motivated is about focusing on what truly matters to you. Keep pushing forward and the results will follow.
